An Africa Games swimmer, Tebasan Graham has urged the Nigeria Acquatics Federation to intensify its effort at engaging athletes regularly in competitions at the grassroots.

Graham, who represented Nigeria at the 2007 Africa Games in Algeria, made the appeal while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the swimming event of the ongoing 11th Nigeria Navy Games at Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Graham, who a naval personnel, said the country had budding talents who were capable of representing the country credibly in international competitions, if adequately groomed.

“We have talents in swimming but the only factor militating against their progress is lack of regular competitions.

“If regular competitions are organised by the federation or the state associations, athletes will be engaged regularly and budding talents will be identified.”
