OKOSUGBENE— VICTIMS of last year’s military bombardment of Okosuegbene community, Delta State, have complained of acute shortage of food, shelter and medication since the incident.

Chairman of the community, Mr Wilson Arerebo, who raised the alarm in a statement, said the people were dying of hunger.

The community said: “It is pertinent to note that we have been neglected and left to die after the unlawful bombardment of our community, where some persons were extra-judicially murdered,  while some of us narrowly escaped death in the November 24, 2016 invasion by the Nigerian military under the guise of searching for Niger Delta Avengers.

“The military raided our village mainly made up of fishing men/women and children, which was established over many decades under the allegation that our community is a Niger Delta Avengers camp.”

“We, however , wonder how  a reasonable government will describe a fishing village of children, old women and men as Niger Delta Avengers camp?” it said.

The people lamented that  some of the victims,  Mrs. Dise-ere Felix, Mrs. Paulina Felix, Mr. Kaddy Monday, Mr. Ideggor Orrede, Mrs. Ebilade Felix, Mr. Wisdom I. Ittorbi, and Mrs. Ebikabo-ere Akarawei were still homeless,  while  a woman is still missing.
