Harping on the advantages, Na-Allah said the growth projection and market forecast informed the airline’s decision to be listed on the NSE to give members of the public the opportunity to be part of the airline through share holding.

He named Kedari Capital Ltd and Trustyields Securities Ltd as the financial advisers/issuing house and stockbrokers to Medview Airline in respect of the listing.

“Medview Airline (christened “The Airline of Nigeria”), started from a humble beginning 12 years ago as a cargo, tour and charter operator.

“Not contented with tickets and destination sales, the airline ventured into Hajj operations.

“The airline’s forays into pilgrims airlift has revolutionised pilgrims handling and airlift in Nigeria and in the West African sub-region.

“Today Medview is the benchmark and the airline of choice when it comes to Hajj operations in Nigeria.

“It is ranked number one by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for hitch-free Hajj operations,” Na-Allah said in a statement, copy of which was obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Buoyed by the success of Medview Travel and Tours, Hajj operations, charter flights, he said the airline upped the ante and went into scheduled operations in 2012, starting with domestic routes.

According to him, just within four years, the airline has become a household name in the aviation industry.

“Within this short period, the airline has eight destinations – Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, Yola, Enugu,Owerri and Maiduguri on its domestic network, and had flown over two million passengers.

“To its credit, Medview Airline has recorded a steady growth of 20 per cent in turnover. This gave it the confidence to go international, and now operates flights to London, Jeddah, Accra, Monrovia and Freetown.

“The airline has secured all necessary approvals to link all the countries in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in the next few months,” Na-Allah said.

He said also on the front burner was expansion on the international routes to United States via Baltimore, United Arab Emirates via Dubai with connections to Europe and the Far East through a code share airline partner.

Na-Allah said in recognition that aviation was global, the airline was in partnership with notable brands including Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, Hahn Air, Air Atlanta, Saudia Cargo, Ethiopian Airlines, Euro Atlantics and Amadeus.

He said: “the airline holds the necessary certification as a full-fledged carrier including Air Transport Licence (ATL), Air Operators Certificate (AOC), Air Carrier Permit (ACP) and the International Organisation Safety Assessment (IOSA) issued by the International Airlines Transport Association (IATA).”

ESUT

Nigerians in the Diaspora have continued to show their love for their country in various ways. While others award scholarship to indigent students or build schools, some are investing in healthcare.

One of those notable Nigerians is German-based, Dr. Alanna Ebigbo, who, despite his young age, has already started to give his support to the country.

In a colourful ceremony on Wednesday, he donated some multi-million naira endoscopy equipment to both the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla Enugu and the Enugu State university of Science and Technology (ESUT) Parklane Teaching Hospital, Enugu.

Receiving the equipment, the chief medical director of UNTH, Dr. Chris Amah, said the endoscopy machine would boost healthcare in the hospital.

Amah, represented by the chairman of the medical advisory committee of the hospital, CMAC, Dr. Obinna Onodugo, re-affirmed that UNTH would continue to improve in patients care, adding that lots of progress had been recording since the inception of the present administration.

Thanking Ebigbo for the donation, the CMD assured that they would make effective use of the equipment for the benefit of their patients and in the training of medical students.

In his remarks, the head of the gastroenterology unit, department of medicine, UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu State, Prof. Sylvester Nwokediuko, described the donation of the endoscopy machine as a life-saving intervention.

He said the donation was timely as it came when the hospital dearly needed it to enhance its diagnosis of patients.

Earlier, Ebigbo, had explained that he donated the equipment as his contribution to not only boost healthcare in the country but as a way of giving back to the society where he was born and nurtured.

The son of a former deputy vice chancellor, University of Nigeria, Enugu – Campus, UNEC, Prof. Peter Ebigbo, appreciated the warm reception given to him and his group by the UNTH management. He promised to continue to support the hospital.

At Parklane Teaching Hospital, Enugu, the provost, ESUT College of Medicine, Prof. Anthony Ugochukwu, who received the equipment, said that the donation of the endoscopy machine was a new dawn in health delivery in the facility.

He noted that the equipment would not only be useful to their patients and students, but would provide adequate diagnostic services for people in the entire Eastern Nigeria.

Having made a similar donation to the hospital last year, the provost was delighted that the endoscopy unit was now among the best equipped in the country. He thanked Ebigbo for his interest in Parklane Teaching Hospital.

Ebigbo disclosed that as a child he had the dream of rendering humanitarian services to his people as God continued to bless him with resources.

According to him, “what gives me the greatest joy is that some sick people are being treated with the help of the endoscope machine I donated to both hospitals UNTH and Parklane and I will not relent in my effort to do more.”

The group, led by him, later paid a courtesy visit to the chief medical director of Parklane Teaching Hospital, Dr. Gabriel Njeze.
Apart from donating the equipment, Dr. Alanna Ebigbo and his partners, also trained the staff of both hospitals on the use of the endoscope machine.
