Following the need to develop Nigerian economy and other African countries, the Federal Government has indicated interest in improving its trade relationship with Japan even as the later has agreed to commit $30 billion for African development under the Asian Tiger’s sustainable development.
Based on this, the Federal Government has assured Japanese investors of a safe and business friendly environment for their investments, noting that it has begun to improve the ease of doing business in the country.
Speaking at the Japanese Business Mission to West Africa Business Seminar and Networking held in Lagos, the Minister, Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah, said that though the country is going through trying times, the present administration is working relentlessly to identify areas where Nigeria can attract the much needed foreign exchange to carry out developmental projects for economic growth and stability.
The Minister who was represented by the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Ms. Yewande Sadiku, during a business seminar organised by Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), said that there are more investment opportunities Nigeria and Japan can do considering the size of Japan.
“There is a lot more both countries can do together. However, the Federal Government is doing more to improve the ease of doing business in the country and that is why it inaugurated the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC).
In addition, Director General, JETRO Paris, Mr. Susumu Kataoka, said that at the Tokyo international conference on Africa development, the Prime Minister of Japan, announced its commitment to invest about $30 billion in Africa for the sustainable development in Africa especially in infrastructure, human resources development, technology, improvement of living conditions and regional stability.
Also speaking at the event, Research Analyst, Asoko Insight Limited, Mr. Olayinka Omolere, said, “Nigeria as the largest population in Africa has huge untapped potential that needs to be developed to make Nigeria among the world leading economies in the world”.
Head, UNIDO investment & technology promotion office, Nigeria, Ms. Adebisi Olumodimu, said that the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation in Nigeria, is ready to direct Japanese investors to regional ECOWAS market and as well help in facilitate meetings and business discussions between potential Japanese investors with government MDA’s and state Governments.
In the same vein, Senior Director, Africa Finance Corporation, Ato Gyasi, said, “there is need for interconnectivity in the race to develop trade in Africa. Even though developing a project tends to take a long time, infrastructure financing in Africa should be directed to retail trade, financial services, seaports, natural resources, telecom, roads & logistics, heavy industries, power, rail, agriculture etc.

Taylor Bennett just released his new project Restoration of An American Idol, featuring a lineup of friends that includes Raury, Lil’ Yachty, Kyle and more. One record music lovers are sure to gravitate towards to is the Mike WiLL Made-It produced “Nobody Tell A Name” featuring Jeremih and Taylor’s older brother Chance the Rapper and Raury. In an interview with FADER, Bennett explains how the two-year-old song came together while laying on a hospital bed
When I got sick and I was in New York, when I was on my hospital bed, I just called Chance and I was like, “You know, I can’t stop thinking about this song. I need this song. Please give me this song, please send me this song so I can hear it,”” says Taylor. “So I ended up calling him, and I was like, “Yo, can I get this song, I really want this song,” and he was like, “You know what, I got you.” And he gave it to me which was, like I said, a really big honor because I really loved that song.”

David Umahi of Ebonyi State.
Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has been elected as the Chairman of South-East Governors’ Forum, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Umahi was unanimously endorsed at a meeting of the forum attended by all the governors from the zone in Enugu on Sunday.
Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, who announced this after a closed door meeting, said that the lot fell on Umahi to lead the group because Abia and Anambra had had their turns in the past.
“I want to specially recognise the oldest member of this forum, Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo and Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra.
“We have just risen from a meeting and it is my pleasure to officially introduce the chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum in the person of Gov. Dave Umahi.
“He is our chairman today because Anambra and Abia have taken their turns in the past and we are moving forward from Ebonyi flank at this moment,” Ikpeazu said.
Umahi said his election was an honour to lead the forum even though he might not be the most qualified.
“I want to thank my brother governors and to accept the leadership position my colleagues have pushed on me.
“Not being the most qualified but they decided that I should be the chairman of the forum at a time like this. I want to thank them with all sense of humility,” Umahi said.
NAN reports that this is the first time after the 2015 general elections that all the governors were meeting face to face at the forums’ meeting.
Some of the governors had in the past delegated their deputies to represent them at the meeting.

Firstly, let’s define and understand the definition of “EVAPORATION”
Evaporation is a type of vaporization of a liquid that occurs from the surface of a liquid into a gaseous phase that is not saturated with the evaporating substance.
The other type of vaporization is boiling, which is characterized by bubbles of saturated vapor forming in the liquid phase. Steam produced in a boiler is another example of evaporation occurring in a saturated vapor phase.
Evaporation that occurs directly from the solid phase below the melting point, as commonly observed with ice at or below freezing or moth crystals (napthalene or paradichlorobenzene), is called sublimation.
On average, a fraction of the molecules in a glass of water have enough heat energy to escape from the liquid. The reverse also happens — water molecules from the air enter the water in the glass — but as long as the relative humidity of the air in contact is less than 100% (i.e., saturation), the net transfer of water molecules will be to the air. The water in the glass will be cooled by the evaporation until an equilibrium is reached where the air supplies the amount of heat removed by the evaporating water. In an enclosed environment the water would evaporate until the air is saturated.
With sufficient temperature, the liquid would turn into vapor quickly (see boiling point). When the molecules collide, they transfer energy to each other in varying degrees, based on how they collide.
Sometimes the transfer is so one-sided for a molecule near the surface that it ends up with enough energy to “escape” and enter the surrounding air.
Evaporation is an essential part of the water cycle. The sun (solar energy) drives evaporation of water from oceans, lakes, moisture in the soil, and other sources of water. In hydrology, evaporation and transpiration (which involves evaporation within plant stomata) are collectively termed evapotranspiration. Evaporation of water occurs when the surface of the liquid is exposed, allowing molecules to escape and form water vapor; this vapor can then rise up and form clouds.
The six (6) important factors that affect evaporation are:
1. Wind assists evaporation; for example in clothes dry faster under a fan.
2. Heat assists evaporation; for example, in summer clothes dry faster than in winter.
3. Increase in surface area exposed assists evaporation; for instance, a wet cloth spread out dries faster than when folded.
4. Dryness assists evaporation; for instance, clothes dry faster in summer than during the monsoon when the air is humid.
5. Rate of evaporation depends upon the nature of the liquid; for example, petrol evaporates faster than water.
6. Vapor pressure: if pressure is applied on the surface of a liquid, evaporation is hindered; consider, for example, the case of a pressure cooker.

Leicester City's Italian manager Claudio Ranieri (L) gestures as he talks with Leicester City's English striker Jamie Vardy (R) on the touchline during the English Premier League football match between Hull City and Leicester City at the KCOM Stadium in Kingston upon Hull, north east England on August 13, 2016.<br />Lindsey PARNABY / AFP
Jamie Vardy has slammed claims a breakdown in his relationship with Claudio Ranieri played a key role in the Leicester manager’s shock sacking.
Ranieri was dismissed by Leicester’s Thai owners on Thursday, less than a year after masterminding his team’s fairytale Premier League title triumph.
The Italian’s exit was widely suggested to have been linked to him losing the support of senior Leicester players including Vardy.
Vardy has been a shadow of the player whose goals and work ethic played such a big role in Leicester’s success and it was claimed he may have told the club’s owners that relegation was possible if Ranieri stayed.
But, just hours after Leicester dropped into the relegation zone on Saturday ahead of their clash with Liverpool on Monday, England striker Vardy took to Instagram to defend himself.
“I must have written and deleted my words to this post a stupid amount of times. I owed Claudio to find the right and appropriate words. Claudio has and always will have my complete respect,” he wrote.
“What we achieved together and as a team was the impossible. He believed in me when many didn’t and for that I owe him my eternal gratitude.
“There is speculation I was involved in his dismissal and this completely untrue, unfounded and is extremely hurtful.
“The only thing we are guilty of as a team is underachieving which we all acknowledge both in the dressing room and publicly and will do our best to rectify.
“I wish Claudio the very, very best in whatever the future holds for him. Thank You Claudio for everything.”
