The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger, on Tuesday solicited the support of residents in the fight against all forms of crimes in the state.
Mr Philip Ayuba, Commandant of the Corps made the call in an interview in Minna.
He said that offering intelligence reports on movement of bad elements will greatly assist in curtailing criminal activities and ensuring peace.
Ayuba explained that the command had deployed plain cloth personnel on foot patrols in and outside the metropolis, to track down criminals and ensure their prosecution.
The commandant, therefore, called on traditional rulers and other community leaders to do more in mobilising residents to cooperate with security personnel in confronting the present security challenges in the state.
“We also require information on the movement of cattle rustlers and kidnappers as we are ever ready to confront them,” he added.
